I Have to pay $1,000 for the program fee which i still don't understand, but what can you do. I'm not sure if it depends on your insurance, the Dr. or the Hospital you're going to ?? good thing we have a nutrionist that visits our job every tues. or i probably would of had to pay for my 6months history. and i'm glad the fills are the same cost as a regular co-payment($25-30). i do know if it was'nt for me having to come up with this fee i would of been banded already ! oh well oct. 24th is around the corner

I had to pay a $75 fee during my inital consultation, plus my $30 copay. I had to pay a $95 fee for the nutrition and psy evals. I also had to pay $1000 program fee one week before surgery. I agree that it is a scam. They are just taking advantage of people because they know we are desperate and will pay whatever they tell us.

I didnt have a program fee.... all i paid for was copays and visits to specialists (insurance covered)... also a initial consultation with my surgeon which insurance covered...

But nothing about a program fee:confused:.. this is news to me that they charge something like that.. all i pay for now is copays for fills

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
