Recommended Posts

how many calories are you all eating? I am just so confused about a few things. Should I only eat 1200 a day to lose weight or whatever I burn excerising should I eat thoses calories too? I want to see what the April Bandsters are doing.

Hi! I'm eating 1200-1400 a day. I was doing 1000-1200 a day before I upped my exercise. To be honest I quit logging my food recently and don't know what I've been getting in the last week or so. I've been really tight and think I need an unfill - so I've been eating more junk than good (unless it is soup). Getting an unfill is definately in my schedule tomorrow. Then I'll log again...I don't want to know what I've eaten in the last week or so. Learn and move on.

My dietician told me to aim for 1200 calories of food intake, and NOT to eat extra for calories I burn. I'm not sure I agree that is the healthiest approach. If I burn enough I eat something extra so I'm never really below about 1200 calories.

I usually eat between 1200-1400 calories, but aim for 1200. I usually burn between 400-600 calories most days in exercise. I don't eat calories just to consume them, but if I'm hungry, I eat. Most of the stuff I eat is lower calorie anyway and therefore some days my caloric intake is less than it probably should be. I have totally hit a plateau so I'm thinking about trying to get in more calories to see if that's the problem. However, some days there just aren't enough hours in the day to eat more than I already do. I'm sorry, I know this probably doesn't help you, but this is where I am. Good luck.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
