wooo whooo, I have made it through my 1st month

Recommended Posts

Hey guys and gals, I am as of today exactly 1 month post-op. I wont lie, it hasn't been the easiest road I have ever traveled but one of the most rewarding.

My first 2 weeks where the hardest. I was on Clear liquids those weeks and seeing my family go on with their hambugers and pizzas etc... well, basically, I wanted to snatched them ballheaded. But this was my decision and I knew what would come along with it when I did it.

Along with the band come alot of major changes in my life. I not only had this procedure done, but the same day I had it done was the last day that I had a cigarette. I have been smoke free for an entire month, and giving them up was alot easier than giving up my food, I will tell you that now.

So, I am 1 month post-op. I am very proud of myself. I am proud that I have stuck it out thus far and can't wait to see what the next month holds for me. I am 17 pounds lighter. Its not as much as some have lost post-op, but by george, 17 pounds is DAMN GOOD for just 1 month.

For all who were banded in August, CONGRATULATIONS WE MADE IT THROUGH OUR FIRST MONTH. YEEEEEEEE HAWWWWWWW!!:wink2::tongue::crying:

Wow surgery and you QUIT smoking.:crying::thumbup:

Because you have done this- you deserve nothing but the best health and peace of mind.

Don't ever look back. It's straight ahead from here on out.

Thanks for inspiring me.

That's right, from here on out, it is straight ahead no looking back. My goal I want so bad to meet this year, to be able to wear one of those sexy Santa Suits Christmas night for my wonderful husband that has beent here for me since I decided to go through with this. I owe it to him, and most of all, I owe it to myself to see myself smaller and in something sexy for the first time since I was 19 yrs. old.

Hi there,

I have surgery scheduled for Sept 23, 2008. So Juku, I was hoping since we have a similar surgery time we could stay in touch and push each other and share ideas, etc. I am 36. I live in Northern California with my husband and two children, 15 and 17! They keep my hands full. I am really looking forward to surgery but nervous also. Are you able to request me as a friend because I can't seem to figure that out yet?? Or anyone who would like to share info! I am still trying to figure my way around the web site. Tell me about yourself and hopefully we can stay in touch!!

And SassyMomma- great news, thank you for giving us incentive! Good for you!

Anjie

Absolutely, that would be great ladybug1972. I think I figured out and added you to my friend list. Just go into your edit profile and on the left hand side, it says something like "edit friends & contacts". Just type my JUKU in their and click on the "add to friends" button. I will definitely appreciate the support and will try my best to return the favor. I am 31, single and live in a very very small town called Humboldt SD. Hope to hear from you soon.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
