A simple hello will be sufficient

Recommended Posts

Hi Y'all -

I posted a question earlier with no response. Just a simple hello from anyone at this point will be nice. Hoping to be able to use this forum as an important tool as I work toward my weight loss goal.

Thanks from a newbie.

Hi. I just wanted to say that sometimes, there won't be a response if they are not familiar with that particular situation. It's not because they aren't willing to help. I have found that anyone that knows, will answer.

Anyway, welcome to the forum from another newbie.

Hmmm...I know why I didn't post...you asked a specific question:

Anyone else here had any issues with other surgeries prior to banding?

And NO I didn't, so I figured you only wanted answers germaine to your question!!!

If you just wanted to introduce yourself, you could just say so!

Hi CountryGirlNY. I know what you mean - some of my posts do not get many replies either. I still put them out there, perhaps someone can relate. Hope all goes well for you!

Thanks Y'all!

No worries about my first question. It was very specific and I'm just praying that it's not going to be an issue.

My first consultation is on Wednesday - I guess I'll know more after that.

Hi, I'm a newbie, too, as of tonight. My surgery is scheduled for 10/6/08, and I am nervous. I see my surgeon on 9/23 for my pre-op. Again, ready, but nervous.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
