Awful PB experience

Recommended Posts

We went out for Breakfast for fathers day. I decided to get a cheese omelet. I guess it was too soon after my fill last week - oh boy - what a day I have had. In the diner, i had to excuse myself to go to the ladies room. I thought that I felt better, but on the way home it really came up! Late in the afternoon, I tried to eat a banana, i ate it, but it really took me quite a while. So, I thought I'll be ok for dinner - so I ate a baked clam - big mistake. (I won't go into details, but suffice it to say it was not a pleasant experience) So, in reality, all that I ate today was a banana. I guess I'll just stick to shakes tomorrow and probably tuesday. I have to go back to the doctor on Tuesday anyway to check the fill. At least I know that I have restriction now.

Ouchie-wowchie!! Been there, done that. You are definitely right to stick to liquids tomorrow; it sounds like your esophagus has been through the wringer!

Talk about negative behavioral reinforcement, huh?

IMPORTANT. AFTER YOU PB, YOU MUST BE ON liquids FOR AT LEAST 24 HRS. APPARENTLY EVERYONE KNOWS THIS EXCEPT THE FIRST TIME YOU DO IT. I DIDN'T KNOW EITHER. AND AFTER DOING IT MORE THAN ONCE IN A DAY, MY PERSONAL ADVICE WOULD BE 48 HRS. I can tell you from personal experience, if you don't, you'll Get into a viscious cycle & close up your band. Please be very careful. Good luck @ the doc.

Hi there!

Isnt an omelet made with egg?

Alot of us have problems with egg... so this may be a certain food that you may want to eat with caution - may have NOTHING to do with getting that fill last week!

Just food for thought! :)

I have been their and done that several times, just be careful. I irrated my esphogus so bad I had to get an unfill, you will learn over time when you can eat and when you can't and what you can eat and what you can't.

PB means Productive Burp!

Update:

I went back to the doctor today and I am doing much better. He wants me to have shakes for Breakfast and lunch every day and mushies for dinner for as long as I can handle it. He things that I just ate too much too fast at breakfast and that I really need to learn how to eat slowly (I think I learned!!) But honestly, I think my fill is very tight but I did not say that to him. Maybe I'll loose faster.

PB actually means slime to me, LOL. Funny you mentioned the omlet, I too went out on Sunday and tried an omlet, along with my salad that was doing just fine, took a bite of the omlet and that was all she wrote. If I went on liquids every time I slimed, I'd be on liquids all the time....Although, today, I haven't pb-slimed one time, woohoo.

Wow - it happens that much? One of the first foods I ate was scrambled eggs with a little cheese in it. I had no problem but I feel like I have been on liquids for so long that I will soon float away! It has only been two weeks.

eggs are a no-go for me as well. Last Saturday I stopped and got a Breakfast borrito and it got stuck for a second (long enough to make ya panic a little) but it passed. I just chalked it up to eating too fast and not chewing well. I tried another one Monday morning and it was the same but way worse. I never did pb but man that was something i don't wanna do again. So no eggs....not that I'm heartbroken....I can't stand 'em unless they have a ton of cheese on 'em.

I need mental help. I can't concern myself with your horrible PB experience cause all I can think about is a baked clam. I don't even know what it is, but I must have one.

But honestly, most of us know your pain, and it's horrifying, and it's not very pretty. It's definitely not girly. Are you feeling better now?

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
