A Nov. Bandster Buddy???

Recommended Posts

Hey All,

My name is Allyson. I am 26 years old and I live in Alexandria, LA. I am being banded by Dr. Kirshenbaum in Aurora, CO on Nov. 19th. I would love to find a Buddy who will be banded around the time that I will so that I have someone to keep close contact with and sort of "go through it together". I have chosen to only tell a limited number of people prior to surgery, so it would be nice to have a friend to email, chat, etc. If anyone is interested in being an accountability buddy... let me know!

Allyson

Hi there! I thought i was going to be a sept or oct bandster. My dr office advised me a week ago that it will be sometime in nov. I had my initial consult on July 31 and have my anasteologist app on sept. 17. Then I can get an official surgery date. I contemplated Mexico but decided to stay local. I live in canada and have been researching wls for about 6 months. I had a consult for a Tummy Tuck in May and was told to loose excess weight first. It may be something to consider in the future. I am willing to be a buddy. I don`t use my real name online for privacy reasons. I am 30 years old and a mom to 21 month old twins. I am 5`1 and 197 lbs.

I am also in Canada (Ontario) and am being banded on November 12th. I am 35 and have a 4 yr old and a 10 mos old. I have been researching this for nearly 3 years and made the decision to do it late last year. Then it was time to count my pennies. Well the money is (sort of )here and now is my time. Big gulp!!

I am excited and nervous all at the same time. While the waiting is killing me I also think I need this extra time to get my head around this.

I keep reading everything I can get my hands on and have started to prepare for the pre op phase.

How are you doing?

Where will you be having your aftercare? or will you be going back to Mexico? Since I am going to Denver for surgery and I live in Louisiana, I am having aftercare in Texas (College Station) with Dr. Garwood. I was just curious. I would love to keep in touch. Since we are close in age and Close in geography. haha!

I will also be banded on November 19th - I just got the date today. I live in Massachusetts and would love to keep in touch to compate notes. They are telling us here that they do not keep us overnight, they are sending people home the same day as the surgery. How about you?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
