18 hours to go and I CHEATED

Recommended Posts

Tomorrow at 1 pm I have my dietician appointment to get my mushie diet instructions... well, what do you know? I blew it just now!

I made some tuna salad w/ fat free mayo and mustard and had about an ounce. I feel fine and I chewed really, really well...

The thing is, I have not been able to tolerate the Protein drinks so for the last 10 days have been living on Green Protein from Trader Joes (It's a juice and veggie drink w/ about 6 grams of protein in the bottle) soy milk and Soup broth! I seriously needed something!

I probably have not been consuming more than 500-700 calories in the last two weeks as it's really hard to get them in when I don't have the protein drinks!

Surprisingly, I have felt good, but well, I guess I justified it since tomorrow is the day I would start anyway.

Hopefully the 18 hours won't make a big difference! I am going to sit up until I think it's been digested!!!

dont sweat it, i went 3 days early because i wanted to practice eating before i started back to work, which was the day i was suppose to start mushies. as long as it is soft, and you dont over do it. i cant see any harm in it. it is not like you had something that could rupture your sutures. take care. im about a week further along than you.

Hey dont worry about it, the liquid phase is a killer and it looks like you were on it for 3 weeks. I only had 2 weeks of it and I have to admit I stuck my finger in the Peanut Butter a few times just to get a taste of something other than, Optifast and Soup.< /p>

Its very hard to follow a diet that is so restrictive when you are hungry. I know for me I have no restriction in my band what-so-ever so eating a 1/2 cup is a killer when I really want to eat a plate.

Littlefroggy believe me you are ok. I started eating mushies a week early and I am fine and still losing weight. I didnt over eat but I did move on to mushies. I moved on to full diet after a week of mushies and still doing fine. I eat small amounts and I chew very well. The hardest thing for me to do is not to drink while I am eating.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
