drstan,

I do believe you would be more credible if you were to capitalize sentences and addresses, punctuate correctly, and try to separate thoughts coherently.

I do not doubt that you are unhappy with your band. I'm honestly sorry that you feel this way. I am surprised that you were given a band with so little weight to lose. I hate the fact that there is a surgeon out there that is giving such horrible advice.

Maybe if you could share more of your journey with us, tell us of your pre-op visits, we could give you more support. I believe you are in need of support and would like to offer you some. How can we help?

15 pounds overweight and they approved the lap band surgery.

The surgeon should be ashamed of themselves.

Thats a joke.

No, that's not the only thing you are saying.I believe the title of your post is lapband = deceit and bullsh**t. Now if you have some legit comments / questions, feel free to fire away. But don't come on to a lapband site and take that tone. If you really are a DDS (which, in all honesty, I seriously doubt.....If you are, lay off the N2O) then do some research into how the band is supposed to work.

Serious questions / comments only from this point forward, K? Thx.

Exactly. I'm gaining the moment, cos I am eating too much of the wrong thing and not doing any exercise after sustaining an injury training for a half marathon (was running upwards of 50 km a week). I'm lazy as all get out and its MY fault, not my band's. My band is still doing it's job thank goodness though. Otherwise I'd have put on twice what I have. Sometimes its not entirely right to blame external things only (ie just the band).

No one deceived me on the fact that I'd have to work for the REST OF MY LIFE with this band. That its hard from time to time, but its a commitment we all make in having this surgery. If your Dr didn't tell you that, then he's not doing his job. AT ALL.

What's a troll?

A "troll" is someone who comes onto a message board or forum (such as this) and says things to deliberately provoke people and cause drama. Often times they don't even believe what they're saying, and are simply trying to stir things up a bit and cause a frenzy of posts to be made. I guess they derive pleasure from seeing lots of people swarm in to say how wrong they are, how uninformed they are, etc. They just like the attention, however negative it may be.

This person's posting style and appaulingly bad run-on sentences tell me he's just a troll looking to get a rise out of other bandsters.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
