Congrats!!!

I had my surgery on Monday 8/25 and only needed the pain meds at night for 2 nights. Luckily we had a easy time w/ it. I have read a LOT of ppl that have not had such an easy time! :)

Ok how are you getting away with ibuprofen? We are told ONLY tylenol because the NSAIDS like ibuprofen are bad for your stomach.

My doc has no problem with Ibpro. he said just to cut them in half and it really helps because it is an anti-inflamatory, like they gave me in the hospital the first night

Surgeons are all so different! I wouldn't take it on an empty stomach but that's personal preference. I do like it better than tylenol as a pain reliever but for now will follow what my surgeon says. I will say though if i could take ibuprofen instead of tyelnol I'm sure I'd be feeling better too! LOL

Thanks! And don't get me wrong, I feel pretty good considering! (I had surgery 8/11 and again 8/29, he reused the same entry points so I know I feel a little more sore because of that!) Just wishing I could have ibuprofen too! :) You are one lucky woman!

I had my surgery 2 DAYS AGO on 8/29/08, I had a rough night on Friday and little sore yesterday but woke up this morning feeling a lot better!! After reading some posts I also was very concerned about pain and recovery but I am doing well. The only thing I think that I may have to dilute my juice because it makes my stomach hurt a little bit. Any suggestions on how to get your Protein intake in on the first week of clear liquids>?

Hi, I had my surgery on 8/27 and am feeling pretty good too. Seems like the my port site is a little swollen and the incision itches ... Does anyone else have that?

Okay in no way do i want to start a war of the Protein wars but the main way i am getting my protien is with using the New whey protien bullets from GNC and making Jello with them

I spoke to my doctor and the nutritionist and they did not seem to have a problem with the new why protien bullets so i feel comfortable using them...if you want some more ideas for using them please send a private message i don't want to get blasted for mentioning them by those who don't agree.:)

It will itch as it heals. Just keep an eye on it and if it gets really red and warm, or if you have a fever, call your doc immediately. A little swelling and especially the itching is just normal healing! :)

and Patty, yes my port side does itch a little and is more sore than the rest i am sure they did a little stretching to get the band in and what not. i have glue no staples or stiches so its nice it doesn't rub on my clothes or anything.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
