Hi there,

I was banded on Friday, August 15th. I was back to work (desk job) on Thursday and felt pretty good.

It's been two weeks since my surgery and I feel normal again except for a few twinges when I twist wrong or something.

I remember sugar free popcycles made me feel better. Remember to walk, walk, walk. Hang in there. It does get better!!!

Dani

Hang in there Ang! Nearly everyone on this board has been where you are right now and you'll never be on your own as long as you come here. Tell us how your day is going? Is anyone around to keep you company? Have you discovered popsicles yet?

Hi there. You are not alone! You may find this to be a faded memory sooner than you think. Pretty soon you'll be out trying on new clothes and hanging out with your friends and doing lots of things that normal weight people do.

Keep that in mind to get you through the difficult days. It gets much better when you can eat solid foods and feel restriction. Until then, keep your chin up, and positive thoughts.

Oh yeah, the sugar free popsicles. I like the one's that are called "Life Savers". They saved my life in more than one way! I'm addicted to popsicles now though.

Take care, and do it one day and one pound at a time.

Sue

Congratulations on the surgery. I had my surgery four days ago and I finally felt much beter today. I was able to take a shower and I advanced to full liquids. The first couple of days were pretty hard - but it takes some time for your body to recover. Although Lapband is less evasive than gastric, it is still a major surgery and our bodies have to heal and adjust.

I hope it gets better for you soon.

Try not to sit and fret, make sure you are getting up and moving. That really seemed to help me. This will pass and you will feel more and more like yourself each day.

You just had surgery and it takes time for everything to get back to normal. Keep moving and sipping, that is really the key. Also, don't hesitate to take your meds, you don't have to be a hero!

I love the lifesaver popsicles, they are the best! Hope you are feeling better, we are all here to help each other through this!

First Congrats on your band!! I was banded on the 27th and by day three I finally felt "normal" again! I think you have to keep drinking and it helps! I also agree with eating sf popsicles! They help! I hope you are feeling good today!

Glad to hear you are feeling better. It does get better every day!! I have had similar things happening to me and every day I get better! I didn't have my second Protein Drink for two days in a row and I felt like CRAP and was getting head spins and stuff! So look after yourself! You will get better each day!

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
