 I am feeling pretty good, I went to my first fill dr.'s appt since I've had my surgery on July 1st. Even though I felt good and I had lost some weight already, I was still unsure that everything was ok (I had some big fear that my port was gonna be misplaced or something and I wouldn't be able to get any fills). Well I got my first fill, turns out I had .5 cc in my band that I didn't even know about, the doctors told me that that was what comes in the band (my mex doctors said they don't put any in, so that must be true), so my doctor here put in 1.5 cc... so now I have a total of 2 cc's in my 4cc band!! I feel pretty good, however I still don't feel like I have enough restriction, but I am not going to get anxious about it yet!! I think I do need to watch my portions a bit closer, I am afraid that I am going to strecth out my pouch. I asked my new doctor how much I am supposed to be eating, and he said the size of an egg? I think sometimes I can eat the size of 2 eggs before I feel full. But sometimes I also think my eyes are just bigger than my belly. I'll just have to try harder i guess!

Ok... I eat more than the size of an egg. During week 2 and 3 I ate between 1/2 -3/4 cup, and now I eat about a cup of food at each meal. I heard that is about right. I went to the PA for my first fill and she said I was doing amazingly well. I had lost 26 lbs in less than 6 weeks. I don't think that less than a cup of food can be enough nutrition for your body. If you are losing weight and not eating past being satisfied, you are probably doing well. Try to stay at a cup of food, not more, or you may stretch your pouch.

See what others tell you. Maybe I am wrong.

What no pre-op diet required? I can't believe it I thought that every Dr. required it. I was told that it is to shrink your liver so that they can get around inside your body better during surgery. So did you just have to do the one day before liquid diet?

I was surprised too. The day before I couldn't eat past 10 am. I think he may require more from people if they carry more weight around the mid section or if they are heavier than me. Although, I am quite the heavy! soooo.... all my weight loss is from surgery.

Hi, I was told the same thing to eat between a 1/2 cup to a cup, I usually stay at a 1/2 cup, I have lost 47lbs since my surgery on 7/14 and I am feeling pretty good.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
