Probably. A lot of what you'll be able to eat varies from person to person. I myself can eat almost anything, as long as I take teeny tiny bites and eat slowly....Having said that, doughy foods are the most likely to give me problems. Only through trial and error will you be able to find out what you can and cannot tolerate. Just pick healthier foods, take small bites, eat slowly, don't drink with meals, and quit eating when you are no longer hungry...these are the "golden rules" of the lapband.

What you can eat is a very personal thing. I find I cannot eat pickles unless I cut off the outer rind of the pickle. But then I have trouble eating the skin on most fruits and veggies. I have to peel everything before eating or cooking. The skin on a red or green pepper no matter how tiny the chop will just get stuck in my esophagus and come back up.

Yummy, bread and butter pickles are my treat when I'm craving sweets! I have no problem with pickles- to my surprise! I did find out the other day that I have a problem with plums- go figure!

I love the Kosher dills -they have always helped me with sweet cravings at night. I eat a spear and no longer want sweets. I have heard that the skin on fruits and vegetables give lots of people problems - not everyone of course. I am ADDICTED to red seedless grapes and I keep reading "no grapes". Maybe I will be able to eat them down the road - if not.... that's ok too. Nothing tastes as good as being healthy feels... right? Thank you all for answering my strange question!!!!

I love pickles too! I am able to eat them without any problems. I usually don't eat the outter skin for fear of getting it stuck. I learned pretty quickly what I could swallow and what I couldn't. Things that don't break down easily are more likely to get stuck. By break down I mean get mushy after chewing....like pineapple, apple skin, etc. If I really want some pineapple I will usually chew it until all of the flavor is gone and then spit out whatever I can't swallow (sounds weird, I know.) At least that way I don't feel deprived of certain foods.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
