Has anyone heard of the Miracle Noodle

Recommended Posts

I was just curious if anyone heard of the Miracle Noodle and if anyone has tried it. I found it on the website www.miraclenoodle.com. It says for a 3oz. serving size of Angel hair noodles that there are 0 calories, 0 fat, 0 Protein, <1gm of carbs, 0 sugar and 0 protein.

It also says it expands slightly when it enters the stoma so if you do try it, you should try it with caution.

I don't know, sounds almost too good to be true. Pasta disagrees with me post banding so I wont try it (not worth being stuck and uncomfortable).

It is always interesting to see the new things that come out.

Do you remember that Olestra stuff? Replaced oil's and you could buy pringles with low calories and low fat. Sounded good to me and fit my diet plan perfectly . . . until after the first terrible cramp an unpleasant hour or more in the bathroom, lol. I lost any desire for pringles after that.

However, Splenda seems to be everything it is cracked up to be . . . tastes great and no gastrointestinal distress. :0)

I am a strange duck that doesn't seem to have any problem with Pasta (a blessing and a curse).

I think I will order some tonight and let you know when they come.

I love Splenda! Have you noticed how much it is lately? It's almost double the price of other substitute sweeteners. OUCH!!!

Splenda does seem to be as perfect as everyone claims. However, I'm convinced that since I use it so much, at some point in the near future it is going to come out that Splenda somehow causes heart disease, loss of hearing, and psychosis. :tt2:

The psychosis part I can buy into... may be why I feel so psychotic now!!!!

The part about expanding in the stomach scares me --- sounds like a great way to end up making a trip to the emergency room. They're probably fine for someone who's dieting but has not had weight loss surgery.

I have actually tried the miracle noodle. Ill try to explain it as best as I can. It doesnt have any taste. It takes on the taste of the sauce that you put on it. You do not cook the noodles they come in small packages that has the directions on them. To me it is chewy kinda like calamari. Its not bad tasting but it takes some getting used to. My husband says that it is strickly filler it has no nutritional value. He also says that they smell a little fishy when you open the pack but that is because its in sea Water. After you rinse them the smell leaves. Per the pack this is totally normal. I didnt notice any swelling in my stomach. If you have anymore questions just ask. I dont mind at all. Well, I am off to eat some mircle noodles for dinner!

I have not tried that exact noodle, but I have tried the shiritaki noodles made with tofu in them, and love them. They have a bit of Protein, nearly no carbs, I think 20 calories for half the package, which is more than I need. I have tried it since being banded, and find no problem keeping them down.

Personally, these super low-cal noodles seem to be better suited to someone who wants to eat large quantities of Pasta without the calories. Once banded, we should be satisfied on small portions, thus there is no need for this product really for us. The calories in regular pasta are not all that bad given the small portion we should be consuming and satisfied with.

The PA that does my fills suggested these to me, she said the angel hair Pasta was the best of what she had tried. She also said they take some getting used to, but she does use them. I have not yet tried them.

Thanks for all the great information. I'm only three months post op and have not had any Pasta at all. The calories in regular pasta are ok, it's the carbs that concern me. That's why I would like to try the noodles. I'm not craving carbs at this time, but would like to know I can have a little when and if I can tolerate them.

I like the Barilla multi-grain Pasta. It has Omega-3 and Protein in it, and the multi-grain is a little more nutritious than white processed flour. I don't have a problem eating pasta, and when I do, I only eat a 1/4 cup at a time.

I try to avoid Splenda at all costs......go to www.truthaboutsplenda.com

very interesting.

I have switched to Stevia, it is a natural product, way sweeter than Splenda or sugar and with no side effects.

I did have to have Splenda stuff pre and some post op because that is what is in most shakes......

I'd be careful about anything that expands.......I think natural is better just less of it............

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
