Mushy/Soft Food Stage

Recommended Posts

I saw someone asked about what we were eating on this phase, so I thought I would share. Maybe you can give me ideas too!

Breakfast examples (only 1 of these):

Egg Beaters - just 1/4 cup is all I can handle right now

1/2 package of cream of wheat w/ lactaid low fat milk

lunch (I am almost to the point where I can have 2 of these):

1/4 cup cottage cheese

1/4 cup butternut squash with butter spray

1/4 cup tuna fish with low fat miracle whip and a touch of celery/onion powder and 1 tsp of Pickle Juice

1/4 cup Canned chicken with low fat miracle whip

dinner (Again it is 1-2 of these):

1/4 cup Chilean Sea Bass grilled

1/4 cup White Fish

1/4 cup Canned Chicken with Potatoe Soup mixed together with 1/2 can of lactaid milk to almost a "chicken ala King" recipe

1/4 cup butternut squash

1/4 cup Cream of Asparagus soup

Snacks:

1/4 - 1/2 of a snack cup of SF/FF Jello

1/4 - 1/2 of a snack cup of SF/FF pudding

sugar free Popcycle

Sugar Free Fudgcycle

Anyone else have any other ideas? I would love them!

Unfortunately, I do not like refried Beans. I was told to hold off on beans because they cause so much gas. They say the skins can cause problems as well.

Here are some of the things I have tried:

Refried Beans with a touch of salsa and sprinkle of cheese, yummi! I also have had ricotta cheese with spaghetti sauce (warmed up in the microwave for 1 min). Scrambled eggs with salsa. Yogurt. Mashed potatoes. Baked potato with sour cream.

I am now allowed to add in ground beef, kidney Beans, tomatoe sauce and soft cheeses. Of course, what am I planning to eat - CHILI!

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
