Can you still have soda's after being banded?

Recommended Posts

I have been banded for 5 years now and went 3 years without sodas worried if I would explode or something with my band. I have heard many things about erosion slippage etc. I will occasionally have one. (about 3 a week max) I have just lost the desire for them because they make me excessively burp. Beer is totally out and so is champagne (sp) Maybe with the excessive burping they fear the band moves around in the first three months or something........don't really know.

I think the main reason "no sodas" is because they are usually high in fructose corn Syrup and sodium. Not something you want to have when you are trying to lose weight.

My doctor says a soda once in awhile is fine. I used to drink A LOT of Diet Coke and really thought I would have a hard time cutting back. I honestly don't miss it. I have a Diet Coke or a Diet Sprite a couple of times a month, but most of the time I would rather have Water.< /p>

        Hello Joset, why haven't you been given a diet plan? Did you have your surgery in the UK? Every surgeon has a different diet, and no two people are on the same one. Weird I know. Contact your team if you can

        Mine was two weeks clear liquids

        Two weeks on soups, milk shakes and broths all with out lumps

        two weeks on pureed foods { I couldn't stomach this step }

        two weeks on soft foods like Protein yogurt, stewed mince and veg, soft scrambled eggs. Pate on hard crackers

        Then onto any food I fancied. If you struggle on any step or with any foods go back a step for a few days. Eggs, salmon and chicken are hard for beginners.

        Sorry I missed your original post, hope you are still on here.
