My pre-op diet starts today!!!! I'm excited and somewhat nervous. However over the last couple of weeks I wasn't dieting I was visiting all my favorite restaurants with my wife to enjoy all our favorite foods. We called it our "Toor de Food." I'm glad we did it b/c I am now ready to begin this new journey and change my eating lifestyle. I'm tired of this full feeling that comes only after pigging out on food.< /p>

Good luck to everyone getting the band today and to everyone else starting their pre-op diet today.

I'm right there with you-I start my pre-op today too(tried to get a head start yesterday, but it didn't quite work out!). Thankfully, it's only for 3 days (but then I do the same thing for 10 days post op).

Good luck!!

Charlie, only three days? Wow, I wish. I wonder why there is such a big difference between doctors and pre op diets.

It is odd how there is so much variation!

I have to do mine (Optiyuck) for 2 weeks before surgery (but I have actually done it for 2 1/2weeks), I started last Saturday...day 4 was much better!

Ha ha, very funny :whatchutalkingabout) I'm also doing Optiyuck-ohmy! I tell ya tonight I actually enjoyed it, cause I so freakn hungry (only 8 more days). I have been spacing it all out: Breakfast, a shake, lunch a salad, 3pm another shake, dinner veggies, 9pm last shake. I can't believe I gotta get through two weeks, but hanging in there :tt2: I have broken down and had to chew a piece of gum to hold me until my 9pm shake. Other than that I'm following orders to a T.

Well done LB4life. I am doing ok too! I get a piece of fruit at morning tea (apple) otherwise pretty similar but I have my 3rd shake for arvo tea and then hold out dinner as long as possible...Oh and I am allowed diet Jelly too!

fruit and Jello sound really good right about now :crying: The first week of the shakes was bearable but now the hunger is setting in and the tummy is always growling and saying "feed me, give me food" There were tons of leftovers from a morning meeting at work today and I felt like grabbing the fruit platter and just chowing down! I hope my week two will go by quickly and I'm trying to stay as busy as possible to keep my mind off things.

My pre-op diet was for 2 weeks. I followed it the best I could and I lost over 10lbs, but if i went out to dinner with my mom i didn't deprive myself. Just made a wise choice.

I was told my surgery was very boring and only 45 minutes long. My liver was in a great condition.

I hope my liver is!! I've already lost 3.6kg or 7.9ish pounds and I've only been on it 6 days...I keep thinking I'll slow down and I have somewhat but I am still losing! though I am really hungry at the moment ....but I've eaten everything for the day.... might have an early night

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
