1st Fill and very restricted

Recommended Posts

I got my first fill this morning and they gave me 1.2 cc. The fill center made me drink a glass of Water before I could go home and as I was drinking it, I felt like I had a bubble in my throat. I was going to get some of the fill removed but then the bubble went away. They said I should be okay. I had some egg drop Soup for lunch and it went down just fine. I told the nurse that I have been having dizzy spells and she said I may be anemic (sp?) and I need to increase my Protein intake. I tried to have a Protein Drink a few minutes ago and OMG I had a mini PB! The protein drink is a liquid and I thought I would be able to drink that. Now I have a pain in my chest. Is this normal. The fill center really didn't think I was overfilled. Could it just be swelling?

Could it just be swelling?

It could be, this is why some Dr's reccomend 24-72 hours of liquids after a fill. Everytime I got a fill I would stop at McDonalds on the way home from Mexico and I would get a chocolate milkshake ..the same thing happend to me, it finally learned to drink slower. The next day after my fill was always better. You will adjust to the new sensation, just sip slowly for now but when it comes to solids in a day or2 and you can not keep food down, definately you may be too tight

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
