Hi,

I was banded on Friday and I still have no hunger at all. I am still waiting for any gas to pass, no burps no nothing. My port site pulls when I get up, but other than the pain in my shoulder, I don't have much.

Today I had 3 oz of Protein Drink, 3 tsp yogurt, 1/2 popcycle and then another 3 oz of Protein Drink. I know this is not enough. I don't drink anything before I eat and I wait 1/2 hour after. It takes me almost 1 - 2 hours to drink the protein.

Any suggestions on getting me moving? I know I should appreciate not being hungry right now, but the gas is awful.

Thanks,

Gilta

Congrats on your banding. Just give it a few days and you will be able to get more fluids in. In the meantime, just keep sipping away. I had to force myself to keep drinking the first few days. Beef broth went down the easiest and tasted the best. I have discovered if I get all my fluids in I have more energy.

It will get easier. The gas will go away too. It took mine 4-5 days. The worst is over and now its on to a healthy life. Hang in there. Every day is a little easier.

I too had this problem. The first week I could only get in about 400 - 600 calories. Drink Water and, as dsylvr said, beef broth. Now, two weeks in, I am able to get about 800 calories but it is getting better each day.

I just had my first hunger pangs today. It is hard to drink when you don't want it.

Good luck.

Congrats on the banding. I had this too during the first couple of weeks...unfortunately for me it went away before I was able to eat solid foods. That in between time was tough!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
