Yeah! I finally broke a milestone for me. I have been strugilng since surgury in May to loose 20 lbs. I have finally done it! I feel so much better. I was starting to get despondant. It was just comming off so slowly. I know everyone looses differently, but my word I was slow! LOL. I have kept a food diary..ect... I would come here and read daily and be thrilled for other people all the while thinking what the heck am I doing wrong? I guess I am just going to loose sloooowly. Have a good day eveyone!:wink2:

Yeah for you! Regardless of what your mind says, 20 pounds (never to be seen again) since May 13th is AWESOME and doesn't seem that slow to me.

Keep up the good work?

Before surgery did you doctor do blood tests for your Thyroid? I have an underactive one and have to take daily medication the rest of my life. One reason I got heavy fast. I wasn't diagnosed for over a year and gained 50 lbs.

I'm amazed at how many doctors don't automatically run thyroid tests. My PCP ran one about a year ago and I found out that I had hypothyroidism then. It makes me wonder how much more weight I would've gained if it had gone undetected any longer.

I too have hypothyroid. Definitely get that checked out. It makes a difference, and can definitely make a diff in your weight loss.

My family Dr. had checked my thyroid out a couple of months before my surgury. I lost the first 15 really fast and just kept loosing and gaining the same weight (4 lbs) the rest of the time. I guess for some reason I was already at a platue. Now I feel like it will come off fairly fast. Don't know why I feel that way, but I do. :wink2: Thanks for your replies

Might be time for another thyroid test. My husband was diagnosed with it in January. He never thought he had it till he gained weight over the holidays and couldn't get it off. He then found out his aortic valve needed replacement, something we knew would happen at some point but not now when he's only 62. He just have the replacement surgery and is doing great, home 3 weeks and so much better and now he's losing weight a few lbs. a week.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
