4 months since lap band surgery

Recommended Posts

I had surgery on March 17, 2008. I have gone from 230 pounds down to 198...My clothes are falling off! YAY! I am struggling right now with a plateau...no matter what I do, the scale doesn't budge...I am on medication for Constipation and do as much exercise as I can..but I've had DVT, a total knee replacement and my other knee is causing a lot of pain...Does anyone have any suggestions that will help me get back on track? Thanks!

No suggestions but wanted to say congratulations on your loss. I had my surgery on March 13 and keep fluctuating between 37 and 40 lbs down. I am so aggravated that I can't get past it! I try exercise as many days as I can but it just won't budge.

My husband says I am probably building muscle because I do feel a difference in my clothes but it still disappointing. If you figure something out let me know!

Good luck!

You may want to check out the 5 day pouch test. You can find it at 5 day pouch test . com. It can kickstart your weightloss. Good luck

I am at the 5 month mark almost and I am stuck at 41 pounds too. It goes up 2 pounds and down 2 pounds and I am very consistent about my exercise. I even went to 2 x a day and no weight loss. Arrrgghh!

I think I am eating more because I know what I can eat now and am probably eating too much.

I am starting the 5 day pouch test today to get this kick started again. I think I will have to go back to all liquids every month or so for a few days.

I am also going to call for a small fill. I thought I was at my sweet spot but maybe not.

Best to you in your journey!

Sadie

Hi Carol,

Congratulations! Sounds like you are doing great! I have a question for you. I still am waiting to finish my 6 month watch before I can get approved. I am 5'3", 260lbs. I have double, maybe triple chins, ha ha! I have jowels too and I asked my daughter I wonder what will happen to my face when I lose the weight. She said it will FALL!!! Is this true?? Usually when people lose weight, their face shrinks. Oh my God, makes me afraid to lose the weight if my face is going to be horrid. Maybe you can tell me how yours has done. Thanks so much and keep up the great work!

Karen

It being summer do you have access to pool. That is a wonderful way to exercise and keep the weight off the joints. I wish I would do it more often. I'm just lazy lately.

So glad I logged on today and searched using the word, "plateau" -- because what I'm reading here is exactly what I'm going through.

I'm 48 (close enough to 50), and for the past two or three weeks have been going back and forth with the same three pounds. I lost 41 pounds, but then go back to 38, down one to 39, back up again...so frustrating!

I definitely have restriction, and have been PBing a whole lot, to the point that I fear that I've done damage. I will be seeing Dr. Ren on Tuesday, so will ask her about this.

Even though I feel I have restriction -- what with stuff getting stuck left and right -- is it possible that I actually need another fill?

Cheryl Ann,

I was just wondering the same thing. I have trouble eating one time and I just got through eating Wendy's chili and a baked potato no problem. If I knew I was going to be able to eat, I would have opted for salad!

I'm so frustrated by the whole thing right now because it either goes down fine or I'm PBing or in pain because even the smallest bite gets stuck.

I don't think I'm overeating (even though what I ate today seems like alot), I just wish there was a rhyme or reason to it!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
