I am scheduled for June 1----really nervous but excited to get on with this

journey!! Do you know of anyone who has been banded by Dr. Powell? Do you

feel comfortable with your selection of surgeons? I have been satisifed so far

with everything but I just do not know anyone else who has first hand experience. Thanks!

My husband and I both used Dr. Powell. I was banded on April 27th and he on the 29th. We have both healed very well and have had no problems at all. Our 1st fills will be May 31st for him and June 1st for me. Dr. Powell is a trained heart surgeon who started doing the lap band procedure. I think he has done around 500 surgeries so far. My good friend had her surgery yesterday and she also used Dr. Powell.

I had surgery with him on August 9th. I've been very pleased with him and his office. My hubby is going to get banded with him sometime in January. :)

If you have any questions feel free to contact me.

No, he doesn't make you weigh in with your shoes, he has a special scale that does BMI and fat counts you stand on it barefoot w/o shoes or socks.

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
