Looking for online Buddy/Mentor

Recommended Posts

Hi, i'm from CT and I am 37 years old, happily married for 18 years and have a wonderful 2 year old son. I have a full time desk job so not much exercise during the day. I was banded on 4/22/08 and am struggling at the moment with not losing weight. Would really like someone to chat with online and maybe get a few pointers to help me get going in the right direction again. I have about 180# to lose and really need to get this journey going again. Look forward to meeting new people online how have been in my shoes at some point in their life.

Gail

Would love to be an online buddy with someone who has had experience in this. I was banded almost a year after you were. I had mine on 4/22/08. Can you give me a few tips on maybe a daily menu and how do you fit exercise in a busy schedule. I work from 8-4:30 and then I go home to make dinner, take care of and have play time with my 2 year old son and after he goes to bed, it's clean up time and then i'm exhausted for the day, but need to do something, so any tips from an experienced lapbander is greatly appreciated.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.
