A lot of people lose a lot of weight really fast. I was one of them also. Do not be upset and worry. Enjoy it. It will eventually stop coming off this fast. Promise. And don't worry about a fill if you are losing this fast. I did not get a fill for three months because I was losing so much. Its a blessing, in disguise, truly it is.

Was that ALL post-op or did you lose some pre-op as well? I was banded 6/4 and I've lost 39.5 pounds . . . but some of that was pre-op. It did slow down, but I got my first fill Friday and dropped 4 pounds like it was nothing. And I'm preparing for the fact that it will slow down again.

If your doctor knows how fast you are losing and is fine with it, then rejoice!

Awesome! Thank your for responding. I have really stepped up the exercise so I am sure that is part of it! I seem to be losing about a pound every other day! I am very happy with my choice to have the band!

I wouldn't worry about it either....count your blessings! I was banded five days before you and I can't wait to hit my 30 lbs. lost mark! But I was also at a lower BMI (37.5) than alot of people and so I knew that I wouldn't lose weight as fast as some. Anyway, I think you're doing a great job!

We were banded around the same time ( I was banded on June 11th) and have lost around the same amount. I lost all of mine really fast, in the first 3 weeks after surgery. On week 4, I started exercising 5 times a week, and my weight loss came to a screeching halt. I haven't lost a pound in a couple of weeks despite the healthy eating and exercise.

hopefulmom25 . . . I did the SAME thing. Keep exercising and watching your intake and one day you'll wake up and the scale will have made a serious drop. At least, that's what seems to be happening with my little plateaus. I lost 4 pounds in one weekend just chugging along after the scale had stopped moving for 1.5 weeks!

Congrats on your weight loss. You're doing great! I was banded the same day as you, and as of yesterday when I had my first fill, I have lost 25 lbs since surgery. I worry it will come to a quick standing hault but the best you can do is enjoy the major weight loss for the moment.

BayCityBandster - You've lost 20lbs in 2 months! That's fantastic! Those 20lbs are 20lbs you will never see again. Also, the slower you lose, the less sag you will have in your skin.

BaycityBander,

Do not give up I was banded in March and I have only lost 23 pounds.

I am working out all the time too. but I have lost mad inches because of it. SO I am ignoring my scale and just seeing how clothes fit. Less depressing that way.

Slow and steady wins the race and also less saggy skin later on.

Trish

dionna and tp - thank you so very much for responding. i was having a really bad day.

everyone, please accept my apology for that self-indulgent post, especially on a thread where people were happy about their accomplishments. i would delete it but if it's okay with everyone, i want to leave it there to remind me never to do that again.

taradefrank and everyone who is losing fast, i truly am happy for you and will work harder to join your ranks.

again, please forgive the tirade and best to everyone.

BayCityBander---Don't worry about it! We are all going to have those moments. Your doing great just keep it up. I have gained a pound this week and I am alittle up happy myself. We have to keep in mind we did not gain it overnight and losing it overnight is not an option either. Everyone is different and as long as we are working with our band not againist it the REWARDS will come in time!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
