Recommended Posts

I was banded on april 24th, and have been doing fine until today. I got up this morning and my grandbaby wanted some biscuits and gravy from dairy queen. I ate about 1 bis w/gravy. Then about an hour later my stomache started hurting and swelled up. I'm having a little trouble taking deep breathes. I am hurting all over my stomache area.. I have took 2 gas x pills and it still hasn't gave me any relief yet.. It has been about 7 hours. I was wondering if it may be the biscuit stuck in my stoma or something else.please any info will help.

Seven hours and still in pain? I would think this may require a call to your Surgeon. Better safe than sorry.

Tina - Sometimes if I've eaten something really rich, then my stomach hurts for a while. I try not to do that very often, but we've all been there. I agree, if it's not better soon, call the doc. Good luck. I hope you feel better soon!!

Okay, I'll probably get blasted for this, but I just can't let this one go.... Caybachman, I find it really hard to believe that you eat perfectly healthy 100% of the time. I made a promise to myself that I would not diet anymore which means that if I want a biscuit w/ gravy, I have it! This poor lady is posting for help, not lecture. She probably realizes now that it was something she probably shouldn't have eaten. We've all been there. She asked if we knew of anything that would make her feel better, not whether or not we agree with her food choice. Besides that, we don't know what her normal diet is like. Maybe this was a treat. We all have them. I also realize that when you post here you are opening yourself up to others opinions, but still....

You go Bea...........my sentiments exactly.

Caybachman we are here to support one another. I'm sure everyone has been lectured their whole life. We don't come here for that so try to watch what you say and how you say it ! ;)

Tina I hope your feeling better by now but if not you need to see your Dr. right away............we never had bands before so we don't know what to expect and it's always better to be safe than sorry.

Tina, like many others, I suggest you contact your dr as his/her advice is the best. Even something over the phone.

One of the reasons I'm getting the surgery is so that my body will instantly tell me when I've eaten something bad, so maybe this is what your body is telling you.

Well, what I asked her was a realistic question. I also offered her some adivce that I had received from my doctor.

I am one of those "self pays" and paid alot of money for this and YES I do follow (very begrudginly) what my doctor tells me and I do not eat things that are not on "the diet".

I do think that it is silly to work this hard on something and then blow it. There are smarter treats to eat out there that will not cause pain or get stuck.

So yes, I probably could have worded it differently and I am a person who is very supportive of all....so my apologies to Yvonnkey if I offended....it was only a question.

What's going on with you? Hope it passed and you're feeling better.

If it did............keep on a liquid and mushy diet for a couple of days till your sure your soreness is gone.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
