Hallelujah! I Feel Normal Again!

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

Just an update, FINALLY yesterday for the first time I felt normal...no pain, I slept on my left side last night (it's the small things that matter!)!

I figured out that with all the coughing causing the pain that if I bend over when I have to cough...it doesn't hurt (all that excess makes a cushion) and therefore doesn't irrate and it's finally getting back to normal.

I get to eat REAL food now and that's great! Discovered that Lean Cuisine (thanks to j.lynn) is PERFECT!

Thank you-Thank you-Thank-you to everyone...I find such inspiration from all of you.

I've never been a "joiner" but you guys embodie the positives of a group spirit and give me confidence that I CAN do this...

Yeahh Deb! It does take a month (more or less) for most of us to "feel normal" again. And WOW, nearly -10 already! WTG!

Yep! I agree, the support here is awesome! If it wouldnt be for this place, my journey would never have been such a success!

Keep up the great work! :)

Ahh, it feels SO good! You get little glimpses of normal along the way. Then one day, you realize, WOW! I feel normal!! It's a great relief. Good for you!

I love LBT too. It's a great place to be. I never would have done it if I hadn't had all of you nice folks to help along the way!

Great work! Any word on when you get your first fill? Yup, I agree, there is an emotional component to when you get to solid foods.

My Doc usually does a fill at eight weeks but I'm leaving on vacation so will have to wait until I get back which will make it 12 weeks but that's okay...I'm not really in a hurry.....

No place exotic...a wedding in NJ, Houston (for business), Oklahoma (family), AZ (home), DC (Family & business) and a couple of days in Amsterdam then back here....

Since we bought the house in AZ, we like to go there on holidays and do stuff...I'm sure at some point we will regret not traveling some more here towards the end...but it's SO nice to have a house that's ours....

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
