I can cross my legs!!!!!!!!

Recommended Posts

One of my co-workers (who's a doll) mentioned to me (she was banded 1/08) that she could now put leg on the other leg. I was smiling and happy, as I could do that too. For me, that wasn't much of an accomplishment, but for her it was awesome. I was so happy for her. But tonight for the first time, I can put my left leg across my right leg &...IT DANGLES DOWNWARD!! Not just straight across, but down straight, sort of. I don't have to force it down, or sit weird. I'm sitting straight up, typing this, and lo and behold my right leg is over & down my left leg.:o

I'm soooo stoked!!

Just thought I'd share it with my fellow Nymphs. Hope you all have a GRRREAT 4th. I will be in the middle of BFE Nebraska & won't get to a computer till the 8th. Talk to you soon!!

Your New Nymph,

Jaime

Lol, its amazing how much little things like this give you a boost!

I can cross legs both sides, but if the right leg is on top, I can cross it AND loop the foot around the calf of my left leg. Quite comfortably too. But I cant do it with the left leg on top, weird huh?

Good one Jaime. I'm only a shortie and still have a bit of weight to go before I can do that easily. I look forward to the day! :o

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
