June 16th Bandsters Group!!

Recommended Posts

Hey June 16th Bandsters,

I was reading a lot of posts today and notice quite a few were done on the 16th or 17th of June. It's interesting the differences in weight loss, Water retention and post op diet. I guess we should form a little sub-group and talk together cuz we are all at the same point and it might be a little more pertinent than talking to those 1 or 2 years out plus we are in a hard phase I think,,,,STARVATION!!! LOL!! Get the point? I don't have any idea how to start a group for just us, anyone else know?

Thanks,

Bluefish62

There are more the 300 people on this site banded in June. Go to the Monthly support groups in 2008 and find the support group for June 2008. We call ourselves the Jazzy Junes and the more the merrier! Here is the link

Hi there I was banded June 17 and haven't gotten back on a scale to know what I have lost guess I should lol. I am still unable to sleep on my side where the port is. The gas pains lasted a long time but I feel good I start mushies on Tuesday so that should be interesting. No major hunger at all yet sure that will come!!! I do feel like I swallow grass or something so when I swallow saliva it feels weird hope this passes. Will watch for all june 16/17 bandsters!

Thanks Cathy,

I wasn't aware of the June group, so I started one for June 16th folks, just might be neat to talk with those on the same day and compare experiences!! Thanks for the info!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Your so close now! It's gonna be great :) Wishing you a speedy recovery and looking forward to seeing how it goes!

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
