question about restriction

Recommended Posts

hello,

i had surgery on april 8th. i just went in for my third fill this past wednesday. i STILL do not have alot of restriction!! i can drink an entire glass of Water with no problems. i can still eat more than a few ounces at a time. i'm concerned that i'm not feeling restriction like a should. i made an appt to get a 4th fill on july 8 (that's the soonest they could get me in). to date, i've only lost about 20 lbs. :tt2:

please tell me i'm not the only one who has had this problem. when did you start feeling really good restriction? i'm in another group and alot of the people said that they felt restriction by the 3rd fill.

I am in the same boat as you. I have had 2 fills and I have no restriction. I have been trying to keep my portions small and exercising 5 days a week. That is the only reason I have lost 78 lbs. I want to feel a sense of fullness. My insurance co. will only pay for 2 more fills and then I have to pay out of pocket. I can not afford $950 each fill. I pray that I reach my sweet spot with the next fill. I will schedule another one when I get back from my vacation. Good luck with your next fill.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
