wot exactly does SLIMING mean ?

Recommended Posts

Ok I guess I am the first to answer. Since I just did this less then a half hour ago I should be able to describe it well!

If you eat to fast, or take to much and don't chew enough, the food gets stuck in your band.

Now when this happens to me I get a pain and pressure in my chest, I then begin to slime meaning my stomach creates extra saliva to try to lubricate the food to go through the band and into my stomach. As a result of this your mouth states to Water to the point that you need to spit it out.

Pb'ing is what ever is stuck in your band coming back out. Nuff said?

Not only do you get huge gobs of saliva that you have to spit out, but your stomach makes more mucus stuff that is going to come up whether you want it to or not. It's like hacking up a HUGE lugie. Gross, but true. That's the reason for chew, chew, chew.

Yes, chew.........................this is the worst to me. Had this experience today and I thought I was going to die. My daughter and I were out to eat. Once, something gets stuck and that huge elephant sits on your chest, it's down hill from there. So, please chew and remember to take it slow.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
