How soon did everyone return to work?

I really cannot miss to much work, but I do work in a job that I can sit most of the day with some walking and no lifting. I work in a lab...nothing to exciting?

Any advice on what I should do or expect to happen?:rolleyes2:

I would give yourself a week if possible. Even though you are sitting most of your day you will possibly still be in pain. Hope this helps some!!! Good luck on journey!!!

I have a job where it's VERY tough to get time off so I went back after 5 days. I mostly sit all day so I thought I'd be fine but one thing I didn't realize was that in my case (don't know if it's everyone) lying down was fine, standing was fine, sitting was torture!

I work in an office setting and sit on my rump most of the day. I had my surgery on a Friday and returned the following Monday. I ended up going home at lunch because I was exhausted. Tuesday I was better and was able to work the full day. Everyone is different though. Don't overdo it though, listen to your body and go back when you feel you are up to it.

My doctor told me that it would be a 1 week recovery, so I took 1 week vacation from work, but let me tell you, if I could stay home another week I would of. I was in pain the second week as well, especially in the port area. I have a sitting down job too, but for some reason I felt better when I stood up and walked.

I had surgery on Friday and was at work again on Tuesday. The pain was not bad at all, but I was really tired more than anything else. I felt like I could have laid my head on my desk and slept for an hour or two which is very unusual. A couple of days later and I felt fine.

I have an office job so it wasnt a big deal, but everyone heals a little differently and has different tolerance levels. A week is a safe bet for anyone. If you do go back in less than a week, it would be better to have shorter days or at least the option to go home if you are not feeling up to snuff.

I took a week off (I work in a lab too--12 hour shifts and lots of standing/lifting.) I was absolutely fine after a week and could have returned much sooner. I think you'll find there's a pretty big range of experiences in recover, but I felt really good after surgery and didn't even take the stronger pain meds.

I have my final approval from my insurance, only thing holding up things is one last x-ray needed, which I have scheduled for the fourth of next month, which is my birthday.

Hi, I’m new here. I’m currently on the liver shrinking diet. So far so good, but I have to say I haven’t found a protein shake I like. Anyone have any suggestions please? My surgery date is September 17th.

Fairlife Core are by far the best. They taste just as they are - chocolate milk. You can either get the 26 grams or the 42 grams (harder to find and more expensive). For straight protein look at Bulksuppliments.com ..they have really good whey proteins and offer auto ship plus they test for purity. No taste or smell...

Fairlife has strawberry, vanilla and of course chocolate. No more calories than other protein drinks. Stay away from Premiere, they're dealing with lawsuits due to not being honest about protein content.
