I have been getting this weird shoulder pain in the afternoons. Wonder if it was from driving. Anyway was wrecked after we got home (FIL over from Ireland so I was taking him shopping).

Amanda it is sore isn't it? I would head over to the chemists in the morning (as you say over there) and get something for gas. I got some maalox which helped and some soluble solpadeine.

Now if I could just figure out what's the story with my shoulder. I am almost a week post-op surely this isn't those gas pains people talk about? I actually have gotten them AFTER walking around. Odd. Can't believe I am back in work on Monday. Hope my recovery speeds itself up soon because I don't feel like I can concentrate at my desk all day by any stretch of the imagination.

Morning Grey (have you got a name lol)

I bet your shoulder pain is from driving. We have to remember we've had surgury and should be taking it easy!

Got a friend coming round in an hour....I've text her my chemist list!

Deflatine for wind and tickly cough medicine....looking forward to getting that the most!

I'm back at work on monday too...not looking forward to that one! And no one there knows what I've been up to either...just told them I was going to my mums for a few days.

I'll have to concentrate sadly...no one will have done my work while I've been away....normally when I have time off it take me a month for a week off and a couple of months when I've had a fortnight off!

oooh can't wait lol

Just had my 'breakfast' 150 mls natural yogurt....not eaten so much for a week and I feel soooo full (maybe this alien I have in my stomach is working lol)

Know what you mean about the work. I am back Monday as well and I am sure the shite is piled up at my door. Luckily I have been logging in from home to keep the emails down anyway.

I still feel rotten. I told everyone I was having my gallbladder out. I wonder if the recovery from that is as rotten as I feel?

I had a bad night. I don't know if it was from lifting the wee man when I know I am not supposed to (what are you supposed to do if the world's cutest toddler wants up if your lap?!) or drinking milk too fast after eating Jello, but I had a terrible stomach ache. I think the top stomach is bothering the bottom stomach if you know what I mean. LOL my mom said - you're stomach used to have a job. It liked it. Now it's bored and has to get up to something doesn't it?. Her response when I asked her why I was feeling so sick!

BTW, I am Jenni. Greyt is a play on the word great. I have greyhounds.

Keep up the good work ladies! Grey glad to hear you are feeling better!

I am two weeks out today and getting better every day!

The pain is still there between my shoulders (gas)

My port is still sore and swells at times, but I take a little liquid tylenol and keep on truckin!

I went back to work on Monday and had day and night classes Monday and Tuesday, but now we are on break for two weeks, I won't have to come back to work until July 7! I plan to complete my recovery then!

Take care and be sure to keep posting!

I love to hear what everyone is saying!

Gosh Marvie I have the opposite problem. While I feel I do have some restriction with food, I can drink all day long. I am actually worried I might be overdoing it!

Keep in mind though if you're have liquids in shakes and other purees that does also count. Not to give TMI, but as long as your urine isn't too dark you're ok for the meantime.

Morning all!

Well this time last week I'd just got weighed for the last time on my home scales before setting to be banded and one week later I'm happy to report 12lb gone!

The pain has almost gone, just a twinge if I get up too quick.

Having trouble getting enough calories in cos I feel constantly full

Yesterday I had

About

250 ml yogurt

300ml Soup

150 ml yogurt

200ml apple juice

1 litre Water

2 cups of tea

every time I eat is an effort. I eat cos I have to not cos I want to.

I know I've now got to get more calories in or I'll be poorly

Was thinking maybe a milky Decaf coffee or 2 a day

Work tomorrow

Thanks for the info. the day after I put that question up I haven't had any trouble getting my fluids in. I guess I am just a slow starter.

Amanda,

Congrats on the 12 pounds. I hope work is going well. I don't have to go back until the end of next week so have a little extra time to recuperate. I have 1.5 hour commute each way so it makes an 8 hour day even longer, I am glad to have the extra time.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
