I have to be there tomorrow at 5:15. Surgery scheduled for 7:00. I can't believe it is finally here. I love the roller coaster analogy. Good luck and God bless you all. Pen

So all you 15thers. . . anyone out there ready to talk about it yet? Pretty rough, huh? I may sit down later today and type out all the details to share with everyone. I'll be interested in seeing how our stories compare.

Rough is a under statement. Do I have to do a 5K to get rid of all of this gas? I knew I would have some discomfort but call me nieve (sp). I had 3 children I figured it couldn't be much worse than that SILLY me!!! What are ya'll going through and what else can I do to ease the discomfort?

Mellimel,

This is the third time I have tried to respond. Something keeps kicking me out and erasing my message. This time I'll be more brief--just in case it happens again. I'm not having a problem with gas, but I am weak and hungry and pretty darn miserable. I had read that a lot of people deal with depression post op, but I thought it wouldn't happen to me. I thinking maybe it has. I'm gonna spend some time reading some posts and try to get reinspired. Let's hang in there.

I am pretty weak too. I usually get tired after walking a short distance and I have to sit and rest for a minute. I have been reading probably more post now to see if people have experience what I am feeling than I ever did before surgery. Don't get to down on things keep in mind this was your first step to a new healthier you. Feel free to send me a private message and we can exchange email addresses. You may also want to contact the Person who did your psych eval. I know mine told me to give her a call if ever I needed anything. Hope to hear from you soon.

Oh my goodness the gas is going to kill me I think.. ugh. I've been pretty active though moving around chasing after my 3 kids two of which are toddlers, so being able to actually recoup is non existent once I came home from the hospital. Not to horribly hungry though which is a good thing. I have done so much around the house though that I am hurting now. Especially my low back, anyone else like that?

Hello all just checking in to see how ya'll are doing. How is the post surgery diet going for all. Am I the only one that still seems to be filled with enough gas to take out a small town? ROFL

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
