I have noticed since having the band I don't pee as much. Since 7 this morning, I've had about 74 ounces of Water. It is now 6:06 pm and I still dont have to pee! Should I be concerned? Thinking of calling my doc...

Have you been perspiring a lot? I noticed the other day when it was over 100 degrees with the heat index that even though I kept drinking bottles and bottles of Water I didn't use the bathroom at all for 8 hours. Later I realized that it was because I was sweating like crazy.

Since your surgery was less then a month ago a call to your dr. couldn't hurt.

Take care

Jack is right - call your doctor. Fluid retention can be caused by many things. Just make sure you are taking in at least 64 oz of water/fluid.

I was also in the city this past Saturday, doing only a bit of walking. I drank a good 24 oz. of Water before I left my home (on Long Island), took a train to the city, walked 10 blocks to the theater, sat through the entire play, including intermission, walked back to Penn Station and took the train home -- and only then finally went to the bathroom. Actually, no -- right after I walked in, I took the dog out first, changed the cat's litter...and then went.

I'm the type of person who can't make it through the night without a trip (or two) to the bathroom, so yes, definitely, Water loss through perspiration can really throw one for a loop!

By the way, lexy, you really should consider revising your name to SexyLexy -- you are GORGEOUS!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
