4 days post op and extreemly fatigued

Recommended Posts

I am 4 days post op and have never been so fatigued in my life. I'm getting close to my Protein goal for the most part, but can't seem to shake being so weak. My left arm seems to just drag, and have no stregnth. Not like a stroke or anything, I can use it, it just seem to feel so heavy and limp. I was hoping someone could give me some insight as to what I can do to remedy the way I feel. Is it a lack of sugar??

Thanks in advance. I love this forum!

I was just like that It seem like i just couldn't shake it... Get u some fresh air.. and drink some crystal lite or some sugar free kool-aid something that will give u some strength.. I was in the same state u were in and i thought i was going to just pass out.... U may be in the beginning stages of being dehydrated... push yourself to drink as much Fluid as u can.... sip on some cream of chicken Soup or some sort of broth or something...

Are you taking Vitamins? I chose Centrum silver chewable for right now, even though I'm just under 40. Are you getting in enough calories? Make sure you are drinking, sipping, or crunching chipped ice.

Thanks, everyone. Yes, it occured to me that I may be on the dehydrated side, since even drinking Water makes me full. This may be mind over matter. Also, It may just be my body's way of saying-"Hey, what the h3LL? Where's the food? " My Dr, required no pre op diet, but I did change my eating habits well before surgery. Lost 20 lbs that way in 1.5 months. Now I am down 10 lbs in 4 days since surgery, which makes me assume all the more that I am down alot of water wt. from dehydration to a small degree. Thanks for the support and input!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
