okay, Capt. Jack, I give up on BTDT...please inform!

I used to be a night time coffee drinker. It started in college, continued for years and I still drink a cup after supper. But 8 cups of diner coffee? Even I coudn't handle that one! Have you slept yet, Crysal?! LOL

no, I'm still awake. Still thinking that I'll never sleep again. But the good news is I just spent 11 hours on accounting homework. and watching old movies in TCM. I would have hated to spend that time doing something frivolous like playing video games or drawing...

it comes down to drinking more coffee since it is 9:00 am ..... I am sooo glad it is Saturday!

BTDT (been there done that) last night as well. I got called off work, but kept on call, which means I could be called in anytime from 7pm to 7am. I was sure I would be called in, so I drank nearly a pot of coffee and here I am at noon saturday, have to work tonight, 7pm to 7am, and haven't slept yet... I did try... no avail... bleh... next time I'll try to go to bed instead, and as soon as I fall asleep the phone will ring... a nurse can't win.

Tuesday I came home from work and took a nap until 2 am. Instead of working on homeowrk, I was correcting accounting homework for my students. I guess late nights are for accounting.

Hey Road Queen

I too am a business teacher. How long did you stay off when you got your band? My students (especially the accounting kids) are really wanting me back. I don't want to push it and be exhausted every minute of the day.

Sorry, I haven't gotten my band yet and I will be done teaching for the year when I do. Unfortunately, teaching is my 2nd job so I will still need to go back to my day job.

I'm hoping to go back in a week or less. I'm not sure if they are going to let me use sick leave - because this is elective surgery - and I don't want to kill all of my vacation.

Good luck when you return to teaching. I'm guessing that you will get tired quicker. Try and schedule some cat nap times.

Hey Char, I was back at school in a week. I was very tired for a couple of weeks myself, so I took it very easy.

I had my band installed over spring break. I'm still not comefortable in the desks, but by next fall, look out for the new and improved me!

This week is "dead week" then finals, then home for the summer!

Sick is sick, surgery is surgery, elective or not. You should be able to use your sick time without any hassle. Contact your HR Manager, and he or she will be able to tell you quickly about the policy. If the policy complies with HR laws, sick is sick, you should not have to take vacation unless you run out of sick time.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
