removed 2.5cc of my first fill

Recommended Posts

Ladies,

I had my first fill on Monday, I was having some problems after but figure I would give it a few days. Of course liquids then mushy's for 3 days. Well yesterday was Protein Drink then Soup at lunch, at dinner I tried a soft chicken nugget, well forget about it! I pb for about 2 hours then vomited several times, I felt my esphougas(sp) contracting, I really got scared.

This morning called the doctor and they had me come right in. The fill on Monday was 1.75cc's and today they took out .25cc's, so what does that mean, where am I at right now? I know a lot of you have had experience in this. I also dropped another 3 pounds since Monday....

My doctor said liquids for another 3 days and then puree and then regular food. I still feel soreness in my throat and esphougas.

Thanks all.

That does not make sense

2.25 is greaterthen 1.75

could you of meant .25 cc's?

If you had 1.75 and they removed .25 then you would be at 1.5cc's

I would find out for sure, that needs to be clarified for your own personal records.

I would be calling my doctor and asking exactly how much they took out and how much you have left. Also what size band do you have? If you have the small band, then 2.5cc sounds like a lot to be a fist fill! I would need to know what they actually did.

Phew! Glad you clarified that.

Having .25 removed should make a difference in being able to eat but still give you restriction. I hope this fill level works better for you :)

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
