Doc doesn't want to do a fill.....

Recommended Posts

I do think it should be the patient's choice. You know how you're feeling and weight loss can be deceptive - doesnt mean you havent STARVED and worked REALLY hard to get there, and it certainly does not indicate that you dont need a fill.

Really, its your choice how tight you want to be, an when you want to have fills, conversely if you end up too tight, its your own fault, but your doctor should be going by what YOU say you're feeling, not what he concludes based upon the scales.

My doc has a band herself so I find her much more understanding. She didn't do my surgery but she does my fills. She was banded in Mexico as was I. It's nice to be able to talk to her about her band as well. I know she is going to get me to the proper restriction as fast as she can.

So how did you make out? Did you call the doc and demand to be seen?

I can tell a BIG difference. Like usually for Breakfast I eat cottage cheese packet for the protein...(and it may be due to swelling) this morning I took a bite ----no way my tummy said I was tight and of course it got better as the day went on. I had to just drink my Protein Water. For lunch I had a little less than 1/2 cup mashed pots and I was soooo full!! I am SO excited I hope it stays like this...and maybe this will be my SWEET spot!! The doc didnt give my any probs either with me wanting to do the fill so I was glad for that!!

WELL- I def have my restriction!!!!!! I cant eat anything solid first thing in the morning. And I just found out that roast beef doesnt agree with me either....but its all good

For breakfast the last couple of day I have been drinking one of those yogurt drinks and I add a scoop of Protein Powder to it....does great. I have never been much of a bfast person anyway... bread has been cut out completely it SOOOO sticks!!

Anyhow I have already lost 3 more lbs so I am stoked!! Thanks everyone!!!!!!!

Yay, congrats! Sounds like you might have some good restriction now. I'm always way too tight in the mornings to eat and I typically make a 6-ounce Protein Shake with organic skim milk and Optimum Nutrition whey Protein powder. I can't even think about eating until at least noon or 1:00 PM. It's wild how I'm way tight in the mornings, but by evening, I'm WIDE open.

Keep up the great work!

Yeah today I didnt drink that much of my shake and I was hungry by like 11 but I was still too tight which I think is why I got sick but I've been fine since then.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
