Question for ALL Bandsters.....

Recommended Posts

I posted earlier today about problems I've been having with feeling full, nausea, etc. So yesterday, I could drink about 2 oz's and I felt SO FULL, but today, I can drink an entire 11 oz. Protein drink, and I'm just barely full. I know that each day will be a little different, but is that normal to be such a BIG difference is just one day?? I almost feel like I don't have the band at all today. Anyone else had this experience??

So I have a question for all bandsters, how much can you drink/eat at once until you're full and how long have you been banded??

I was banded 6 days ago and I know what your talking about. First couple of days I got full quick.....now it takes more and if it wasn't for the pain in the port site (not bad) I would not know I had anything.

I understand things are gonna change so I am keeping track of my calorie intake using FitDay.com and still easily able to keep less than 1000 calories a day, which I could not do easy on the pre-opt diet eating 1200 calories I was still STARVING .

Looking forward to the swelling or the thick feeling in my stomach to go away and to getting my first fill. All is good!

Hey, just read your post. How in the world are you getting in around 1000 calories?? I feel like I'm drinking all day and I'm getting in around 500-600. Each Protein Drink is 110, so I'm having 3 a day, chicken broth, crystal light, Water, which hardly have any calories at all.

I have been banded 5 months. Some days I can eat a lot and other days, very little. My experience is that every day is different and totally unpredictable.

yeah, i was like that even before the band. some days i could eat like crazy before my cycle. some days not even eat hardly a thing. but with the band i've felt that too, sometimes i can eat just about 6-8 bites of mushies and be stuffed and full for hours, then the next day i can eat quite abit more and the fullness gone shortly there after. i think it depends on your activity level, the texture/density of what you are eating/drinking and who knows it could even have something to do with the barometric pressure----you just never know when it has to do with the human body and a man-made object. i'm just glad that now i can't go off and eat the whole darn kitchen when i'm on a hungry jag. lol

I've been banded 4 1/2 monthes, and up until last Friday felt I could eat way too much---I had to use more self-control than I had anticipated to keep my calories down. Now, things are very different--and variable. Yesterday 1/4 of a hamburger barely went down. Today, 1/2 cup spaghetti and 2 tiny meatballs went down easily. Even liquids have to be swallowed slowly, like going down a backed up drain. Before I could down 12 oz of Fluid in a few seconds. I guess it's just a series of fine-tunings. I'm giving this 2 weeks--to see if I need to have some taken out. I'm happy though, losing weight without that hollow, starving feeling. Wish i could've had it done 20 years ago!!

I had the same experience as poodlecamper. Last month a got a fill and was very tight. After two weeks it lessened and now I'm still tight but it's a bit more manageable. I've definitely lost weight which is what it's all about! My pants are much looser. I get weighed tomorrow. SS

I'm at 13 days and I'm all over the place. I'm on mushy foods and sometimes they go down really easily then the next time I try something I can't get anything down. I will say that if I keep to pretty bland foods I seem to fill up right away and stay full for hours. But if I eat something really tasty I want to eat more and savor the flavor. I'm sure that's in my head because even so my portions are way smaller than I've ever eaten. I am having trouble not drinking Water while eating because that's what I've always done.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
