When you really want to order a full meal at dinner, but feel bad about wasting food so you start trying to pawn your fries/rice/etc off on your friends and family. Really bad habit. :cursing:

Or when you split a meal with someone and end up giving them more than 1/2 of your 1/2 back. (my mom hates it when I do that)

... when people (my sisters do this all the time) tease saying "Don't let Heidi smell it, she'll get full on just one whiff!"

When you go out to eat with a big group of friends, order a quesidilla to split, give 2 pieces to your 95 lb friend and keep 2 to yourself, she wolfs hers down in 5 mins then gives you a strange look when you are full off two bites.

When you can sit comfortably in a booth instead of asking for a table at restaurants.

When you can now cross your legs above the knee

You scream for all your family members to come upstairs so they can come see the number on the scale while you're still standing on it.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.
