Recommended Posts

I had my second fill and now it is tight. everything i eat gets pretty much stuck no matter how small the bite. and some days everything goes smoothly. Today i threw up for the first time. I have had no problems with PB i guess you call it. Is it true that i have to wait 12 hours before i can eat anything again. that sucks. I need food. I started eating some broccoli and started chewing some meat when all of sudden i had to throw up. can some one help me on this one. I am hungry!!!!:(

My doc suggests 24 hours of liquids followed by 24 hours of mushies. If you are so tight that you can't get solids down without pain or PB'ing I HIGHLY suggest you get a small unfill. Sometimes it takes VERY little to be removed. Being this tight and PB'ing can cause damage to your stomach and the band. Something I am sure you don't want to risk. If it calms down after staying on liquids/mushies I would try solid foods again and see how you feel. If you are still too tight, you should contact the doctor.

I have been banded for about 5 months and the band has a mind of its own. I can eat the same thing for two weeks and then...BAM! Out it comes. I have trouble with broccoli which is too bad because I like it. The only thing you can do is listen to your body, hope for the best and keep on truckin"! Good luck

chicken broth is my answer. It sooths your stomach and the warmth stimulates some receptors in the upper part of your stomach to tell your brain you are full. My doc is very conservative and though I have not thrown up, he strongly advises to go slowly and revert to liquids if you have any problem.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
