I have had my ups in having a band fitted, I lost nearly 3 stone and then my band became too tight! I had to have it losened to the point I had nothing stopping me from over eating. I have had this happen twice now within the year time scale! Which is very bad luck!

I have no willpower what so ever and had tried every diet known to man and woman! I thought that getting a band fitted it would help me in wanting to lose the weight, and help me overcome my lack of willpower! I knew it was going to be a tough ride but thought that through support and help from the company I went with I would be able to do it! But unfortunatly I have not! I have put on weight due to the band having to be losend and have got deeply depressed from this happening!

I would love to know if anyone else has suffered from the band having to be losened. A I would love to know how have you got yourself back on track with loseing weight again!

Ottilie--

I'm sorry you have a hard time. This sounds very frustrating. You don't give a lot of detail but I'm wondering if you have talked to your MD? What is the advise you have received? Do you go to any local support meetings? I'm thinking that there maybe several reason for what is happening. I think you need to talk to someone local who can really do a very good assessment of your situation. I hope you do not give up. Please see someone because I do feel that you need and deserve an answer and I think you can a solution.

Good luck.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
