Has anyone else experienced this???

Recommended Posts

I was banded on April 21st and although I'm doing well I have noticed that from time to time I get stomach pain. Not port pain - but a pain in my stomach. It's kind of hard to explain, but it's almost like when I have to burp and swallow "air", I get a jab of pain in my belly.

Again, I know I'm not explaining this well but it's hard to describe. It comes in waves (not constant) and although not terribly painful, it is a bit of a concern, which I will contact my doctor about. Just wondering if anyone else may be experiencing this and what it might be?

Thanks.

I'm just about a month out of surgery and am still having various aches and pangs. While we start feeling better within a week or so, healing continues to happen for 6-8 weeks.

It sounds like what you're experiencing is normal, but (as you mention) you should talk with your doctor about it to make really sure.

Today is 2 weeks out of surgery. The port still has a lingering, occasional pain. If I place my fingers over the site, I can feel the port. Is this normal? I don't want this thing sticking out when I lose my tummy!!!

Not that I'll be wearing a bikini anymore....haha

I am feeling the same thing I just had my surgury on may 22nd I just want to feel like my normal self

This is to be expected - you only had surgery 5 days ago. It's when you're weeks out, feel good and then every now and again, you feel pain is when you should be alarmed.

You'll be back to your old self in no time - hang in there!

I think it is probably part of the healing process for your muscles, but definitely check with your doctor. I just got back from having my first "fill" I am having a "runners stitch" pain on my left side and I asked him about this. He said that it is a muscle that is still healing.

My fill was completely painless!! I didn't even feel a prick when he put the needle into the port!!

I have a 5cc band and he put in 1.5cc's. Next time will be .75cc's and then .5cc's for future fills. It was cool because I could feel the saline going into the band!!!

I am so impressed by this entire experience so far. It has been a breeze for me!!!:)

Enchanted, we both started at the same exact weight!! You are doing a little better in the weight loss dept. I am only down 16lbs. I just had a fill so I am hoping to be on the same track as you.......

Keep up the good work!!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
