Restrauant list?

Recommended Posts

HI. Is there a list of what you can have when eating out? On Mushies and solid stages?

Restrauants such as Cracker Barrel, Applebee's, chinese, etc.

Thanks in advance! :D

I am far past the pre-op stage, but I eat wherever I want. Just less. I do enjoy the weight watchers menu at Applebee's. I always have leftovers when I eat out, so I really look forward to those later!

Almost everywhere, I order a side dish or Soup. You cant go wrong with soups! The only time im sad is at resturants, because I use to LOVE to eat so much!

If im out, I check the Soups, and get a cup, or eat the chips and salsa, which is always good. Sometimes they will have a side of fresh veggies, which is great, or a potato, baked or mashed.

When I was on mushies (late mushies/soft) I would order a baked potato. Soup is also a good choice. If I went Mexican, I'd have the refried Beans. I don't think you are limited on restaurants - it may take a little longer to find what you want, but most restaurants have something you can have.

Now that I'm on solids, I don't limit myself. I usually ask if I can order from the kids menu. If I get grilled chicken I'll ask for a side of dressing (that way I can dip it in there and it goes down easier). Same for steak. I still have my leftovers and don't eat the bread that usually comes first.

We went to On the Border today for my last 'pre-band' restaurant meal. While I was there I checked out both the adult menu & the kids menu. I was thinking more solid stage but I saw the following I could have (from my understanding of what is OK)

-fajita salad (warm fajita meat, peppers & onions on a green salad)

-chicken tortilla Soup

-grilled chicken with 2 sides (kids meal)

-kids mexican dinner (soft or hard taco or cheese enchilada with 2 sides)

The sides include side salad, steamed or grilled veggies (can't remember which) fries & mexican rice.

FYI that I asked our waiter about ordering off the kids menu post-surgery & he said absolutely no problem. I hope that's true other places as well.

Be careful with the chips and salsa. I ate a couple too fast the other day and then I was stuck when my enchilada came to the table- it looked so good and I was frustrated! It was a corn tortilla enchilada and it wasn't very good when I reheated it. My husband chowed it down though when I didn't want it. He's starting to get mad because I keep giving him my extra food!

Soft tortillas can be a killer. I can eat chips and salsa just fine, but I wouldn't touch a soft tortilla.

Chile rellenos (which were never my favorite before) are now my Mexican meal of choice, or sometimes we just split an order of nachos.

Everybody has different foods they have difficulty with, so (after listing my own favorites) you will just have to figure out what works for you.

Snowbird: Im with you. Them Soft tortillas are killer on me to.. As much as I love them.... I usually stuck with chips or possible hard taco. But sometimes in the Mexican rest the shredder cheese gets me.

I don't know of any list but if you stick with American cuisine they usually have Soup, mashed potatoes (if you are allowed to have them). I went to a lot of deli/sandwich shops like Jason's deli, Potbelly, corner bakery, panera, etc. because they have a wide variety of Soups.< /p>

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
