Failing Is Not An Option

Recommended Posts

Hello

I had surgery 5/6. Doing great and love my band even without a fill it is working. I listen and when I feel satisfied I quit eating..

I've been on vactation and at first was a little afraid that I would be my old self. Eating being the first and second things to do on vacation.

Someone on the forum--and I don't know who you are right now--ends each of their posts with

FAILING IS NOT AN OPTION!!!

Amen to this. Although, I haven't needed help, before I even think food I quote this saying. THANK YOU so much for this quote

Thanks for that heading `failing is not an option``. I less than 48 hours away from band surgery and I am excited/nervous. I have followed the pre-op diet as closely as possible and I am committed to giving this all I`ve got. If it fails, it won`t be because of anything in my control...I owe it to myself.

Glad to hear you are doing well. Keep it up!

Christine

Dicev--

I am glad you like the quote. It is how I feel. I get panicked sometimes thinking maybe I am not doing well on this or maybe it won't work..but then I go back to that quote. Failing truly iis NOT an option..I have to make this successful no matter what it takes.

Oh..and by the way..I had to go away this past weekend. I let the folks at the conference know ahead of time that I had a restrictive diet and the chef was amazing. He asked what I ate at home and he prepared pureed/blended foods and Soups for me for each meal. Most times the folks at my table waned what I had!

Well that was cool that they were willing to work with you to accomodate your diet! And that the chef was willing to prepare an entirely separate meal for you was great! That wouldn't be the case in a lot of places.

I started a month before surgery at 215lbs, but found I started losing with the hope I was going to do something that would help me make it!!

After 2 week diet I weighed in at Hospital 209lbs, and today I weighed 196.6.lbs. Loss has slowed alot, but because of being handicaped I haven't done much exercising. We got back from vacation and it felt so wonderful to loose weight instead of gaining. I had an easy time.

El Loco Poco had steamed vegs, refried Beans and tender moist chicken. I ate alittle and was satisfied.

I got very weak and tired today and was told to eat more Protein and eat around 800 calories. Increase the protein and Iron.< /p>

I'm having a great time. Depression has come and gone, but I know it is more a physical thing then a mental because it leaves so quickly and then I'm OK. I notice physicaly I feel so much better.

Anyway, Cindy thanks for the use of

FAILURE IS NOT AN OPTION

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
