How much weight did you lose the first month after hving True Restriction?

Recommended Posts

Hello,

I have had 2 fills and have another coming up in June 12th. I'm hoping for True Restriciton then.

My doctor told me that once you have good restriction you will lose the most weight the following few months.

How many fills did it take you to reach restriction ? Once you had true restriction, how much weight did you lose in the following month?

Thank you all...

It's weird, after each fill I always lose a pound a day for like 4 days and then I don't lose anything for like a week or two.. then I'll lose a few more pounds... and then nothing. But, the biggest change was after my third fill. It's lasted for almost 3 weeks but I go in for another fill next week as I'm starting to get more hungry again. I don't mind when my weightloss plateau's because to me that just means that its more permanent weight loss. I don't gain or lose.. it just stays there. I change my eating up a bit and bam I'll start losing again.

When I had restriction (after my 4th fill) I didn't lose anything. Fills don't seem to work for me very well. I ended up having a spasm and my band closed up on me. I had to have a complete unfill. Since then I have had some put back in, but I don't have any restriction now at all. I find that eating 5-6 small (well balanced) meals everyday and working out is the best way for me to lose.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
