What should I do?

Recommended Posts

So I was banded 03/18. By April I had lost 22lbs. I am happy about that loss but I haven't lost any weight since then. I have had two fills and have 3cc in my 10cc band. I have been using fit day to track my food and I am around 1200 calories a day which include 90-100 grams of Protein a day. I have just recently started walking about 20 mins. a day. What am I doing wrong? The only thing I can think of is cutting out all sugar. Has anyone else had to do that to loose properly?

Any ideas or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

why don't you "test" your body for one full week.

try having only whole foods...with low fat and limited to no carbs. some things i've been eating that i enjoy is:

Protein Shakes for Breakfast (but an egg would be good too, etc)

chicken salad for lunch or dinner with low carb BBQ Sauce (thanks to georgia girl) or i have it with chipotle mustard and a tiny bit of mayo.

dinner--tonight i'm having chicken taco Soup (from spark people) that's low in fat/cals.

if i were you i'd keep a food diary that way you can see what works and what doesn't. rarely do i eat carbs (except when i was on mushies)..since then i stick to 1oz weight watcher cheese, Protein and more Protein (i'm on soft solids).

i hope it works out!!

You may just be at a plateau for a bit . Try adding some light weight training to your work outs and see if that helps. our bodies like to mix things up .

Also you may not have restriction yet with 3ccs in a 10cc band, it sometimes take a little bit of time. Once you get more restriction you will lose.

Try to be patient . OH Something else are you drinking lots of Water ?

Many people lose in spurts. They hit plateaus, make a change, then lose again until the next plateau. I think walking is a great idea. Give that change some time to have an effect and see what happens. Good luck!

I struggle getting in enough Water too.

I try to drink those big glasses because even though its "One" glass they are usually at least 24oz of Water. So If i can "trick" myself into thinking "Ok i just need 4 of these at a day Im good.

It does not seem like so much that way . ya know ?

Good luck keep it up . It all takes some getting use to at first and it seems like its a balancing act , well it IS a balancing act .

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
