Hi-I am in some serious need of help at the moment. If all else fails, I will go to the hospital, but am trying to avoid that because of finances. I got my first fill Thursday of 2 cc in a 4 cc band. I cannot even swallow my own spit. I thought maybe it was because of my port being swollen, which the administrator said could happen, but now I am beyond that and just know I am in serious health trouble. I cannot find an emergency number for the weight loss surgical center where I had this done, it was in Overland Park, Ks. If someone has it, please please email it to me right away. I haven't even drank enough to go pee in the last 2 days. Thank you.

I can't help you with anything but the faster you go the better. It's hard to believe your doctor would fill you to 2cc on the first fill. It has taken me 3 fills to get to 2cc in a 4cc band over a 9 month period! Good Luck and God Bless!!

If you are having trouble swallowing your own saliva that is a definite sign that you are overfilled and if you can't take in fluids you could quickly become dehydrated. You need to contact the doctor asap and if not him go to the ER. I understand the finances problem but think of it this way. What is cheaper, an ER visit or a 3 or 4 day hospital stay due to dehydration.

Head to the Emergency Room of your local hospital

I've never heard of a 4 cc band? That seems senseless to me.

Please go to the ER and have some Fluid remove, the Dr's there will be able to help. This could lead to serious problems. Your first fill shouldn't have been half you band capcity. Make sure your dr is more conservative the next time, maybe in 0.5 cc increments:cursing:

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
