Inexpensive Bras, A Simple Tip

Recommended Posts

I hated underwires when I was heavy-Now I won't leave the house without one. I also need padding to even out the irregular size of my girls. They are now a 38-long-yup the tube socks thing. I have to make sure they are all tidy and tucked in-but the wires and padding help immensely.

I have a mama boob and a baby boob. People tell me they can't notice but I can. When you lost weight did they even out at all?

I need to go get fitted for a bra. The underwire always pokes my underarms.

I think the bra extenders is a great idea, since my cups are small compared to my width.

 Trystelle!!!! I have a fear of that happening when I start losing weight. You reach an age where they just don't bounch back like they used to and I can already tell I have started approaching that age. :rolleyes2:

I have one that is about a cup size different than the other. I don't think anyone can really tell once they are in a bra, but I can tell. If a bra fits the bigger one right, it's fine, but if fits the smaller one right, the bigger one pops out the top. >.<

Age doesn't have much to do with it. I'm 26, and my boobs try to talk to my belly button. :P

Tube socks!! That brought some images. Mine are not round anymore. I think by the time I lose all the wieght I need to, they'll be very long A cups. :crying:

Do you end up buying the bigger cup sizes then? Right now my issue is my nipples going south. I don't think it's age, but weight loss and I've seen younger women with the same problem.

Drooping is more of a hereditary thing than anything else.

One of my first days on these boards I read something that went a little like this:

Q: Do you still have your boobs?

A: No, but I have the bags they came in.

Made me laugh in that sad little way.

hi,after surgery is ok to wear a wire under wire bra?

I was able to. It depends on where your incisions are though. Once mine were healed for a day or 2 I was back to wearing my normal bras.

I wear under wire now because I like the support but usually by the end fo the day I'm in pain. The place that always hurts is under my arms where breast is supposed to end and side begin.. Someone never gave mine the notice so I always end up bruised there by the boning in the bra. Fun furn... One of the many things I hope improves when I lose weight.

A couple months ago, I needed new bras, but was afraid to buy them b/c I knew I'd be losing weight. I found the perfect solution at Lane Bryant. They were having a good sale so I got a good deal. The bras I bought have no wires, but they are incredibly supportive and flattering! They are made of stretch jersey (I never ever thought they would lift! but they do) so as I am losing weight my bras are not deathly uncomfortable like they would be with a wire. Just a suggestion. I was a total non-believer in non-underwire bras until I tried these on.

If you have a Dillard's in your area, go there to buy your bras. They have professionally trained bra fitters. I won't buy a bra anywhere else. It made all the difference in the WORLD!! They spend a lot of time with you to get just the right bra that won't chafe, ride up, bind or pinch. I don't hang out the sides, or pooch out the front. It's amazing what a difference it makes. I may not get the cute little bra that I want..... but I get one that FITS.

I shop at the maidenform outlet and usually get three bras for $25, plus I get discount % off/$ off when you spend $__ coupons in the mail. I love it. So all of my bras are not only cheap, but they're friggin awesome!

You guys are killing me with this thread - especially the size long and nipples going south!!! Simply becase I relate to both and I haven't even had lap band surgery yet but like everyone else I've lost and regained weight... and my age is a big part of it too.

Have to share - one day I was looking in the mirror and saw a bump on the "underside" of my boob - thought what the heck... do I have lint in my bra??? Then realized.. it was my nipple - dang - REMINDER TO SELF - take the time to situate the girls correctly when getting dressed in the morning!

I'll definitely need a lift and implants when I lose weight - heck I could use them now

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
