I was banded on March 13 and have been doing good since. So far I've lost 28.5 lbs and 9.5 inches from my body. I have been exercising 5 times a week until now.

Now comes the bummer part....storms hit my area on Monday and a tree went through my house. We have no power so my treadmill doesn't work. Its unknown when we will be able to live in our house again so we are stuck in a hotel that unfortunately doesn't have a fitness room so no exercise equipment. We also have to eat out 3 times a day.

I am very grateful that no one was hurt, but how much worse can it get from a bandster standpoint.

I'm trying very hard to eat correctly, but it is difficult when you have to eat each meal in a restaurant. So far I'm making ok choices but we are only 2 days into a possible 2 month process. :smile2:

As for not having a treadmill, go walk around the hotel a few times, walk up their stairs for a while, etc.

And for food, just make a conscious choice to eat 'better'.

No need to get bummed, this doesn't have to be a bad thing for a bandster.

Hi Carla,

I am sorry you are having such a bad time! Mother nature can be a beast and unfortunately it impacts us sometimes.

I was in the same situation in 2004 when all the hurricanes hit FL. We were out of power and home on 3 separate occasions during hurricane season. So, I can relate from a stress eating standpoint...that's all I wanted to do was eat!

You can make conscious choices to move, by walking outside, taking the stairs. Buy some resistance bands and use them for exercise (I always carry one in my suitcase). Also when eating out, just make better choices like salads, grilled things, etc.

I know it's hard, but you can do it!

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
