My first time to post.... I've been lurking around the boards for a few months now but never setup a profile until today.

All requirements have been met, just waiting on approval from Cigna to move forward. :lol: I'm more nervous about being approved or denied than I am about the surgery itself.

I live in Tyler, TX but I'm having my surgery done by Dr. Benavides in Dallas. This will be my first surgery ever (excluding having my tonsils taken out when I was 5 yrs old) so I wanted to make sure I got someone who was experienced and appears to also be well liked.

So.... Just wanted to drop in and say HI!!

Mtanna.....hi from Mckinney Tx! I also used Dr Benavides and attribute part of my success to having such a great experienced Doctor. Ive been problem free. Good luck in your journey and welcome!

      Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

        Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

      Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
